Republican VP nominee JD Vance is coming out swinging on border security, echoing Trump’s hardline approach and calling out the “disastrous” policies of Kamala Harris’s administration. After visiting the U.S.-Mexico border in August, Vance didn’t hold back.
“You’ve got to re-implement remain in Mexico, end catch and release, and finish the border wall,” Vance said. “These commonsense policies worked before, and it’s time to bring them back!”
Vance tore into the current administration, saying, “Kamala Harris stopped deportations and halted the wall’s construction on day one, leaving us with an unfinished border wall just sitting here. Her administration has made this crisis worse by reinstating catch and release and ending remain in Mexico, letting asylum claimants flood into the country unchecked.”
Vance’s tough stance is supported by scriptures that speak to the need for protecting borders and defending one’s home. Nehemiah 4:17 highlights the importance of building defenses: “Those who carried materials did their work with one hand and held a weapon in the other.” Similarly, Jeremiah 51:12 says, “Lift up a banner against the walls of Babylon! Reinforce the guard, station the watchmen, prepare an ambush! The Lord will carry out his purpose.”
