CALIFORNIA – History was made this weekend as 12,000 people were baptized in the largest-ever U.S. baptism event, Baptize California. Among them was a former Satanist who dramatically turned to Christ and got baptized on the spot.
Unprecedented Numbers and Divine Intervention
The event, which took place across multiple locations, saw over 6,000 baptisms at Huntington Beach and another 6,000 across various churches. “You can smell another Great Awakening in the air like rain before it hits,” said Pastor Mark Francey, founder of the event. “God lit a match yesterday! If God can do this in the church in California, it can — and it will — happen in the rest of America!”
From Vision to Reality
Pastor Mark Francey of Oceans Church initially shocked the nation last year with Baptize SoCal, which saw nearly 4,200 baptisms. This year, Baptize California obliterated that record. “My wife, Rachelle, and I could hardly sleep thinking about how God could be so kind to let us be a part of the largest baptism in the history of America,” Francey expressed. “[It] felt like we were living in the pages of the book of Acts!”

God lit a match
The event drew a crowd of up to 14,000 people, with hundreds of churches uniting for the cause. “Hundreds of churches linked arms to accomplish what happened,” said Francey. The event featured speakers and worship music from leaders like Sean Feucht, highlighting countless stories of life change and spiritual renewal.

What’s Next?
With the overwhelming success of Baptize California, Francey is already setting sights on a nationwide event, Baptize America, next year. “Now we are gearing up to do this and unite the church all over America,” he announced. “Sign your church up nationwide today for next Pentecost Sunday, June 8th.”
